Really nice and relaxed. Awesome song yet again Solk. Can't critique.

10/10 5/5

Solkrieg responds:

Thanks :P

Flawless :D

Brilliant piece of work! If there's one thing I wish I could do in life, it's putting a LOAD of instruments together and making them sound really good all in unison.

Anyway, really nice build up, particularly the violins :D The only word which can sum this song up is "epic". :D

Keep it up!!! :D 10/10 and 5/5

BudGPStudios responds:

Thanks man, I was trying for something intense. I'm glad you liked it.

There's around 16 or 17 channels, they rarely play all at the same time, but mastering a large number of instruments isn't as hard as it sounds (especially if they go good together anyways, like orchestral instruments. Electronic synths don't always play together well). Just keep the volume in check and make sure it's balanced well - Also important- make sure they are playing the right notes, because even one instrument on the wrong chord will make it sour.

Fived it!

Though not really my style of music. I found this a bit boring to listen to. No peak or build up really, but I'm sure you can add some effects and other funkay shidazzle to spice it up a bit. The synth was a bit over powering too. Just my preference :S

What WAS good though, was it's structure. I can see it turning out really good. It's perfectly laid out but, there's no real build up. If you automated a frequency cut-off filter for the synth to give it that "building up to a crescendo" type feel, then release into the chorus, it would be amazing. :D

To give it a bit more depth, just add a few more layers (progressively), like harmonies, bass lines, incidentals, white noise, etc :)

Hope it helped :D 6/10 5/5

thanks im nowhere near done with this lol i just kinda had a brain fart so i posted it i think that big build thing your were going on about is what i needed ill see if a can add that somewhere

Lovely Intro :]

The mix however does seem sort of unsettled. Everything before 2:27 sounds like all the different channels were "sidechaining" each other. I don't know if that was deliberate, but I found it kind of off-putting.

Also, the song sounded as if it stopped at 2:27. I can see how you tried to pause the song, then release into the main chorus (to make the "drop" seem bigger), but it didn't really work. It felt like it lost all momentum. Try bridging the gap with an underlying (deep) electro bass, or another side chained pad. After 2:27 though, it was smooth sailing from then on :) The true nature of the song was revealed. A really thumping track and the "sidechaining" effect on the mix became less noticeable.

So yeah, ^those are just my suggestions^. Obviously you DON'T HAVE to take them into consideration. I'm not trying to come across as an expert. I just thought you might like to hear my way of doing things :) And have an honest review like you always desire :P

Needs some fixing up, particularly the mix and EQing. 5/5 8/10 :D

Solkrieg responds:

To be honest, the EQ needs no work done. I know what you're trying to say but the master EQ is already set as a dance song (I set it up myself). The mixing does need work, that's why I said it was just a generic tech song.

Good "dance" track

First off, your synths were pretty good. Nice quality paired with a good melody. I wouldn't class this as a dubstep track. Dubstep is made in half-time, usually 140bpm, but it feels like 70bpm. I'm trying to say, the general pattern for a dubstep track consists of a kick and snare every 2 beats, rather than every 1 beat. Every 1 beat is more dance.

You need to make you drums stronger, particularly the snare. It needs to pierce through all the other elements of the song.

I personally felt that the track started off with too much momentum and never really gave a release of suspense. Though not all dubstep is like that, it is one way of doing it. For what it is, it's a good track. Just not "dubstep". Good effort though. Look up some tutorials on Youtube and listen to more dubstep, you'll then get a better feel as to how a dub track flows.

decoyultimatum responds:

i filed this piece under trance because it is not a dub step i said i wanted somebody to colab with me to revert it into a dubstep silkrieg pmed me saying he would but alas he does not own poizone so i pmed him back asking him if he wants me to send him the plugin so untill then i know full well its not even close to dubstep. when i first made this i wanted to make a trance that breaks in and out of dubstep. while trying this since ive never attempted dubstep before i realized i lack enough practice with dubstep to be able to create what i wanted :/ but its all good for now im just hopeing solkrieg will accept my offer to send him poizone so he can make it awesome for me
ps the stuff about dubstep in the first paragraph i never really seemed to realized so thanks for the info

Really nice intro

Love the intro. It's just so smooth and flows really nicely. Nothing to critique at all. 10/10 5/5

Reali-tGlitch responds:

wow thx :). I was expecting someone to come along and say this isn't bassheavy enough. And coming from a regular top Dubstep artist on NG :)

Quality is brilliant!

...except for the open hi hat. It sounds like a stock hat. It was really bugging me in the intro. But other than that, the song was great. Nicely constructed, lots of layers which created a really nice depth and the overall sound quality topped it off.

A really nice track. I loved it. Disregarding the hi hat in the intro (it must just be my ears) this song deserves a well earned 10/10 and 5/5. Keep it up mate!!! :D

Kylethedarkn responds:

Thank you! :)

Nice jive :)

After 1:32 the song is really good :) The wobble is excellent, though I think you need to move away from FL default samples. Perhaps buy the vengeance house or club pack(s) or make your own. The quality of the samples let it down for me :(

But keep it up, I enjoyed it :D 4/5 7/10

empire00 responds:

At the present my music is mostly the result of experimenting and yeah, samples are the biggest problem. I think after few months of work i'll be able to create some good ones :) .

Pumpin'!!!! :D

Love all your tunes man! :) This one has to be one of your best! Just the simple, driving beat paired with the complex melody is AWESOME!!!Though it really bugs me how your electro basses are sooo DAMN good D: Would you be able to give me a few pointers on electro basses???

If you have the time to reply, it would be much appreciated. :D And for yourself, you should start searching for a label! Don't let your talent go to waste D:

Fived it
